Myrtle Falls, with all the tourists! I have skied many times over this bridge, not knowing the bridge is even there! This image is a blend of two images, one for the mountain and one for the falls.
f/13 for depth of field and maximum sharpness
Polarizer filter enhances the greens and blues
f/18 for the sunstar.
Refractive light from behind the flowers. Classic Galen Rowell.
Processed ridge and sky separately. Added contrast to the sky to enhance the shadow of Mt. Rainier.
Actually had to tone down the vibrance of this telephoto (200mm = 300mm) shot, as the yellows seemed too bright once I added some contrast to the image.
Blending / composites are not easy! Fake moon. The exposure for the moon rendered the balance of the image black. Exposure for the ridge eliminated all detail in the moon, making it pure white.
f/4.8, 25", ISO 400
Oops, gotta write backwards!
Photography is latin for writing with light.
f/8, 30", ISO 400. Too short exposure to capture much moonlight.
Mt. Rainier, lit exclusively by ambient moonlight. Taken from Alta Vista (~6,000') at about 11pm. The "glow" on the left skyline is the intrusion of the lights of Seattle-Tacoma. Nikon D200, Sigma 10-20, at 10mm. 129" exposure, f/5.0, ISO400, added contrast and sharpening in CS5.

This is an HDR shot with 3 images, with CS5 HDR Pro. This shows why I do not like HDR . . . too unrealistic.
Much better, non HDR Shot. Trees were lit enough to bring them within the dynamic range of the sensor.
Comet Falls. Nikon D200, Nikon 18-200, at 75mm. 1.1" exposure, f/14, ISO100, minor levels adjustments, white balance correction and sharpening in CS5.

Christine creek. Not sure I like this image. It did not work for me in color. Maybe in B&W.
Sunbeam Creek. Nikon D200, Sigma 10-20, at 20mm. .5" exposure, f/25, ISO100, minor levels adjustments and sharpening in CS5.
